Course Description

The course aims to instruct and train personnel about the hazards of electricity as well as explain the need for a safe system of work. Personnel with highest risk of coming into contact with this hazard and getting injured are electricians. And most of the accidents happen because of lack of a safe system of work, while allowing unsafe actions, equipment and conditions to persist.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand Legal and Regulatory Requirements
Comprehend standards and international electrical safety regulations, standards, and employer/employee responsibilities to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
• Identify Electrical Hazards
Recognize common electrical hazards such as electric shock, arc flash, arc blast, burns, and fire risks associated with energized systems and faulty equipment.
• Understand Safe Work Practices
Apply safe procedures for working with or near electrical equipment, including proper isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and use of electrical testing devices.
• Select and Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Understand the correct selection, application, and maintenance of PPE for electrical work, including insulating gloves, footwear, and protective clothing.
• Implement Risk Assessment and Control Measures
